in round-robin play, and an invitation to compete at the Ontario Provincials.
The tournament, held at the Carmen Corbasson Community Centre in Mississauga, featured 19 teams across four age divisions (U10-U16), with four teams competing in the U16 AA division.
The Hawks, made up of 18 athletes, showed resilience throughout the round-robin. After an opening 4-0 loss, the team rebounded with impressive 5-2 and 5-0 victories to secure a second-place finish heading into playoffs. Their 5-0 win over St. Catharines on the final evening marked a historic milestone as the first shutout in RCBH U16 history.
In the semi-finals, the Hawks faced a strong and evenly matched Brantford squad. In a thrilling contest that extended into overtime, the Hawks narrowly fell 3-2, just short of advancing to the final.
The U16 AA division was ultimately won by Niagara Nitro, but the Hawks’ performance did not go unnoticed. In recognition of their sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive play, the team has been invited to participate in the Ontario Provincials in Peterborough. The organization is currently confirming availability with players and families as they look ahead to the next stage of competition.
The weekend showcased the Hawks’ growth, determination, and ability to compete at a high level—momentum they hope to carry forward into provincials.
